Beverly Hills, CA (May 13, 2021) – The City of Beverly Hills has contracted with Toro Enterprises to begin its Water Main Replacement Project, which will take place in three phases that began in October 2020 and is scheduled to end in early 2022.
As part of its Capital Improvement Program (CIP), the City will be replacing approximately 4.5 miles of aging pipeline on portions of Loma Vista Dr., San Ysidro Dr. and Coldwater Canyon Dr. Replacing these pipelines is critical to maintaining the City’s water infrastructure as they connect to six of the nine reservoirs in the City and have contributed to over 25 main line breaks over the years. The pipelines are constructed of cast iron and steel materials, installed in the 1920s to 1960s.
Phase One, which entails Loma Vista Dr. between Evelyn Place and Doheny Rd., began October 26, 2020 and will last until mid-July 2021, followed by street paving and striping work to complete the project. Work hours are currently Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sections of each street have been intermittingly reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction during work hours. All through traffic are advised to use Coldwater Canyon Dr. or an alternate route. Local access is allowed.
Phase Two will begin mid-July 2021 and last through the end of August 2021 on San Ysidro Dr. from Tower Road to City limits.
Phase Three of the project will begin in late September 2021 and will take place on Coldwater Canyon Dr. from Beverly Drive to Monte Cielo Drive.
